The Supreme Drive was held Sunday evening at the Indiana State Fair. The Supreme Drive features all female breeding animals, including gilts, ewes, heifers, and cows, recognizing the best breeding stock Indiana has to offer.
This year’s Supreme Champion Dairy Cow belongs to Dillon Freeman from St. Joseph County.
“It was an extremely happy moment, especially when my sister was announced as Reserve Champion before I was announced as Supreme.”

As Dillon mentioned, the Freeman family had a good night as his sister, Breanne, had the Reserve Champion Dairy Cow. What was it like competing against his sister?
“We don’t really have a sibling rivalry. We work together and manage our show cows. So, we’re just happy for each other being able to both be out there and get something.”
The 10-year 4-Her tells Hoosier Ag Today that this cow was special to him because she’s the first animal he ever purchased on his own.
“It’s a bittersweet moment because I love coming to State Fair. I’m going to miss not being able to show in the Coliseum and across the dirt every year now.”
Now that his 4-H career is over, Freeman details what’s next.
“I’m planning to stay on our farm and manage our show cows and then run our row crop farm.”
